Backstage
With just a simple, free-standing screen separating him, and his costumes and props from his audience, 43 year-old Nick Mulpagno makes sure everything is within reach prior to a two day appearance at a supper club. Mulpagono is recovering from the flu, and says it will be a short night.

Garth
Mulpagano is off the stage more often than on, forcing himself into his audience, and occassionally on their laps for a quick hug or peck on the cheek.

Neil
It’s a one-man act behind that thin screen: costume dresser, hairdresser, make-up artist and stage mother are all rolled into one, but Nick’s parents are in the audience this night, cheering on their entertainer son.

Sinatra
Mulpagano’s fans says he comes alive when doing Sinatra, and the physical resemblance and vocalizations are very accurate.

Grease
Nick’s repertoire ranges from Sinatra, and Nat King Cole to Grease classic John Travolta impersonations.

Dressing
Mulpagano makes most of his costumes himself – the sequin shirts and even his Elvis jumpsuit after a tailor wanted $4000 to make the custom clothes. Mulpagno made the suit out of a non-stretching material to force him to maintain his weight, and keep in shape. Spandex on Elvis is not the character he wants to bring to the stage. The King Lives!

One last look
A mirror is always within reach for Nick as the music rises to a crescendo preceeding his final act of the night.

An adjustment to the wig, and the sunglasses complete the regal look Mulpagano brings to diehard Elvis fans.

And the fans …
love him to death. Vowing to have a short show tonight after a two-week bout with the flu, Mulpagano’s show still lasts four fours long for his enduring fans.
