Staff photographers Chad Pilster and Peter Bauer had a short drive from the DeLand bureau to the scene of the crash at Sanford, Florida. In shifts, the photographers documented the site where a NASCAR plane carrying a pilot and Bruce Kennedy, M.D., the husband of ISC leader Lesa France Kennedy fell to earth killing both on the plane and three in their homes.
